I was in Nashville a couple of weeks ago to assess some private collections in the area. I extended my stay for 2 days as I couldn’t resist a visit with my friend George Gruhn. His three story building is the home of America’s finest showroom, repair and restoration shop… Gruhn’s Guitars. This iconic sanctuary was temporarily closed to walk-in traffic with the covid 19 shutdowns but very much open for business via curbside pickups, appraisals, online orders and the like. With special precautions in place thanks to George, Joe and staff, we had a terrific couple of days together solving world issues while playing guitars and banjo’s. I am pleased to tell you that Gruhn Guitars is now open to the public by appointment since mid May. George is continuing to bring back his sales and repair staff with more returning each week!

So many things we could go over from my visit…we’ll do more in the coming few days.

The Martin Sinker Mahogany lineup that is available at Gruhn Guitars is over the top. First the selection is outstanding with OM, OOOO’s, D-18’s, 12 fret, 14 fret…on and on. In addition, George commissioned an exclusive line with Martin to commemorate 50 years of sales and service at Gruhn Guitars! These are available only at Gruhn Guitars. The Sinker Mahogany Martins are like playing a prewar or golden era “best friend” guitar. As George said…”We were excited to learn that Martin had obtained a small quantity of mahogany from trees that had been cut in virgin forests in Belize in Central America between 1880 and 1920. The Central American mahogany is the type used by Martin on the pre-World War II golden era instruments…”

Here’s a wonderful interview with Vince Gill on these fabulous guitars. It’s available on YouTube…go to https://youtu.be/bBaYfrKcb5s  If you have trouble loading the video, simply go to YouTube and search “Vince Gill with George Gruhn”

The entire interview with Vince is a compelling testimony to the quality and sound of these guitars…you can see and hear the difference these old growth woods make. I assure you…they will not last long on today’s market. Contact Gruhn Guitars or order from www.guitars.com today!
